Story so far

I’m Lyndsey, founder of The Yorkshire Nanny Company.

I adopted the business in 2016 after working with children both within nurseries and private homes for over ten years. It was a natural move for me, having just had my second child Will. It is no secret, that children are drawn to me, and I them.

I was brought up in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside. Me and my sister would spend our childhood riding our bikes up and down our lane, feeding the cows and collecting the eggs from our chickens’ huts. I can honestly say that these were some of my happiest times and helped make me the person that I am today.

I have my own little family now, made up of Ellie (nine), William (eight) and daddy Mark. Our life on our own farm is busy, made up of trips to agricultural shows and auctions with our home-reared cows and sheep, balmy summer nights playing in the yard, book ended, always with a bedtime story read by daddy. I guess I have recreated the happy childhood that I had.

Lyndsey was amazing at helping us secure a babysitter for our 6 month old at only a weeks notice. We’re not from the area so it was really reassuring to know we would have someone vetted and reliable, and Sara was amazing! She was so lovely and just wonderful with our little Rosie.

It was our first time ever having a babysitter and Sara really put our minds at ease straight away and was great at communicating with us throughout the evening.
