How We Handpick Our Childcare Professionals
STAGE 1
The first stage of selection is a one to one meeting where I personally interview every individual who wishes to register with the agency. During our meeting, I am looking for a person with:
- Honesty
- Nurturing personality
- Good common sense
- Ability to use their initiative
- Good attention to detail
- Passion and enthusiasm
- A healthy attitude to outdoor play
- An understanding of the importance of a good diet
The last few years have taught me that the above qualities make for a well-rounded, suitable candidate who will provide the best possible care for your family.
Being a mother myself, I understand that when you’re not with your children, the person caring for them needs to be “the very next best thing” to you.
STAGE 2
The second stage allows me to properly verify the individual sitting in front of me and likewise, their documents. The candidate must reach The Yorkshire Nanny Company standard in order to remain in the registration process.
Therefore, my checklist consists of:
- Face to face interview
- DBS check
- Paediatric First Aid Certificate
- Reference check (at least 3 consistent)
- Insurance check
- Childcare qualification check (where applicable)
- I.D check
- Right to Work in the UK check
